Season Two Commences!

The one where Donna & David leave Santa Fe and start their (mostly unplanned) journey East!

Season Two of our journeys began today as we rolled out of Santa Fe Skies RV Park in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We just spent nearly  two weeks in our seventh hometown (for those keeping score: Los Angeles, La Jolla, North Hollywood, Valencia, Glendale, Park City, and Santa Fe [add Encino for Donna, making 8 for her]), including some wonderful time spent with Meghan, Emily, David’s parents, David’s sister, and our niece, Grace. Despite the great time we had here and all the money spent on food and at Indian Market, we are ready to get back on the road.

But fear not, we stopped off the day before our departure at the Chile Bros. on Cerrillos and picked up a quarter bushel of roasted Hatch chiles so that we won’t miss out on green chile cheeseburgers and Santa Fe chicken sandwiches for the foreseeable future.

The nap, er, Map!
All the best plans start on napkins, right?

Back in June we sat down one night at the dinette and drew out rough plans for the next couple of years on, you guessed it, a napkin. Now that we have completed the first leg, er, season of our journey, it is time for us to head to less familiar regions of the country and really start exploring.

As you can see (can you?), our general route will take us North to Colorado and then east to the Atlantic Coast before we head down to Florida and eventually along the Gulf Coast back to Texas, and then to Southern California some time next Spring.

So we rolled out of Santa Fe and headed to Gunnison, Colorado. Our plan is to be there until Labor Day and then start the eastward trek. And while we have a general idea of our route over the next few months, we have yet to finalize much past this next stop.

That said, here are what we are sure will be the highlights of Season Two:
